Bathing Beauties

We celebrated our Park Slope cousins' return from Disney World with fun at lunch and the park. No tickets or waiting in line necessary.


Aunt Julie's lap is the best ride!

X-citing X-mas Weekend

On Christmas Eve day, we headed to Mahopac to be with Mema and Grandpa. Since the lake wasn't completely frozen, we couldn't go ice fishing and instead had to try an in-house x-periment.


Now that I'm so good at sitting, I have to see if I can keep sitting while spinning. Harder than you would x-pect!


Then it was off to Boston to see BoMa and BoPa who helped me create quite an art x-hibition...

Elmo-st Fun Birthday Party

Today we went to Connecticut to celebrate Raffaella's third birthday at The Little Gym. Daddy took me on the (a-little-bit-out-of-)balance beam.


That was nothing compared to swinging with mommy upside down on the bars. She was very brave and I wondered why my dinner was more like a milkshake.


Raffaella's grandma baked the most incredible Elmo cake and cupcakes. Not only were they expertly decorated, but they tasted yummy too!


You do know you're wearing a silly Elmo conehead hat? Yeah, well you have one on too, baby conehead!


Tonight we finally got invited to dinner with baby Arielle (and her parents). It was wonderful to see the little beauty at last!

Snow Park-ing

Yesterday we got our first snow of the season, so we headed to the park before it could melt or turn urban grey (or yellow for that matter).


We weren't ambitious enough to build our own snowman, but we admired the creativity of our neighbors. There was a snowman...


...and even a snowlady.


While at the park, we couldn't resist an opportunity to ride on the swings! With all this snow, my feet could almost touch the ground!

Absolutely A-do-rable

Today I got my first haircut and I was SO brave as some lady named Caroline brought her clippers and her clips very close to my head!


Yes, and there was more hot air involved than in just an average Sunday morning with our family.


I also had some beads added, for extra beauty.


I was sad that I didn't have enough hair to get done, but you sure got the cutest coif.

First Festival of Lights

It was wonderful to celebrate our first Chanukah as a family of four. That's a lot of latkes! I wouldn't know: I could eat only the applesauce.


We played a lot of dreidel. I was doing so well, I wish we were in Vegas.


And lit many,...


...many candles. 9!-1 each, in fact.


We were bowled over by some of the great gifts we received.


Most of all we enjoyed spending a fantastic holiday together!

Six Month Old Pin Cushion?

Today we went for my six-month doctor's appointment. Mommy and daddy forgot their real camera, so they were only able to capture my growth and happiness (pre-vaccination) on daddy's phone. I weighed in at 16 pounds 15 ounces and was 26 inches tall. My, how you've grown!!


What isn't captured here is your bravery. You got four shots and an oral vaccine and you hardly cried. I was so proud of you. Yeah, we can't quite say the same for you with your one shot. You needed two lollipops to recover. Hey, that was all just part of my plan. When you're old enough for lollipops, you'll understand.

Happy, Happy Half Birthday, Baby!

Daria, I am so excited to celebrate your turning 1/2. Happy Birthday, Baby Sister. Does this mean I'm halfway to chocolate birthday cake? Yes, which is why you got to celebrate with a candle in a bowl of mushed peas - delicious!


We broke with tradition and took your 11:05 p.m. photo on mommy, since you fell asleep there instead of in your crib. Pretty darn cute, no?

Stuffed With Thanks

We started our Thanksgiving morning at the Macy's Parade with BoMa, BoPa, Linnea and her parents. I had a great view of the action from atop daddy's shoulders.


I watched from the Bjorn and especially enjoyed being poked in the tummy as the Pillsbury Dough Boy went by...


I heard a lot more "tee hee hee's" when Linnea let you borrow her feathered cap.


Daddy seemed more impressed by the fact that they were selling two-foot-long balloons in the shape of a Red Sox bat in New York than by the giant balloons being paraded past us.


Then it was off to dinner at Uncle Andy and Aunt Barbra's. Daisy and I put on layers and layers of lipstick.


Once we were all dolled up, it was time to dance like divas...Happy Thanksgiving!!

Giving Thanks In Advance

Even the day before Thanksgiving, we know we have so much for which to be thankful. Not the least of which is one another, right?


Yes, though you're also quite lucky to have such wonderful teachers...

And my great-grandparents...

...and cousins, even if they think I'm more of a baby than I am.

More Solids, Peas!

Tonight I had my very first solids - PEAS!! They were absolutely delicious.


Thanks for letting me feed you (and make you laugh)! Anytime, though you should probably not do those at the same time in the future.

My Girls Want to Party All the Time

While Liana is quite the party girl and has attended dozens of birthday festivities, I made my party debut to celebrate Rachel's turning three.


There was lots of monkeying around and an activity where I got to decorate a hat.


Thanks for letting me try it on - though it was a little big.


I loved the monkey cups from which we got to drink.


They were ok, but not as fantastic as the pizza. I think I was the only kid who had seconds!


You'd worked up a big appetite...what with climbing (on) that tree.


It was a fun party. It certainly wore you out!

The Big Dig

This weekend we made my first trip to Boston to see BoMa and BoPa. We were so busy having fun that we didn't take any photos (a real first!). On Saturday night, mommy and daddy went out with Josh and Rachel without us. They didn't take any photos of that either, but we do have this one that never got published this summer. [Oops, ed.]


On Sunday we saw Nora and her parents at the Children's Museum, though apparently the place is still under construction.


Daria needed a lift, but I eventually helped her out of town. I can't wait to come back and next time I'll insist that my adventures get captured digitally!
