No Rest Four the Weary

Today I celebrated four months of doing what babies do best - eating, sleeping, soiling diapers, and making their big sisters proud. Let me guess, in honor of the milestone, you took a nap??

Simultaneous Inoculations

Liana and I went to the doctor today. She for her 2 1/2 year old visit, and me for my four month visit. She seemed less happy than I did. Does she know something I don't? I remember my four month check...seems like so long ago.


Three shots and a drink for Daria. A booster and a seasonal FluMist for me and we're out the door. Here are the stats: One of us weighs 14 pounds, 5 ounces and is 24 inches long. The other weighs 28.5 pounds and is 34.5 inches long.

We were able to talk mommy into a day of hooky. (Shh...don't tell my teachers.) With a day like this, I'm (almost) looking forward to my six month visit!

This afternoon I went to mommy's office and was lucky enough to be held by one of our most loyal readers: Hal. You'll recall that you didn't get photographed in his arms until you were almost nine months-old! Yeah, but who's counting?? Hal is!

As Raffi might sing, Mommy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow. Actually, it's today, but we're so excited!


We get to feed the animals, and not just "Uncle" Thadeous, but also this alpaca.

Labor (Day) of Love

It was wonderful to finally have a sunny, three-day weekend to enjoy in Newport with our family.

Unfortunately, with Labor Day we must bid farewell to summer, and to our white sandals (though I'm still not sure I understand why).

Happy Birthday Two You

Tonight we celebrated Dagmar turning five and Tibor turning seven. I, of course, slept through the entire feast - as well as the trip to and from Chinatown. It was delicious, trust me - especially the soy sauce chicken (thanks for the tip, Aunt Barbra). And parking was a cinch!

Ready, Aim, Firefly

Just yesterday (literally) I was a Penguin, and today I'm all grown up and ready for the next big challenge. Ever since you announced that you were becoming a Firefly, I've been waiting for your lower abdomen to light up...


But so far your best trick seems to be the bowtie face!


I love my new classroom and my new teachers, but the reading nook by the window is my favorite spot and fortunately they keep the stethoscope nearby in case any of us experiences shortness of breath from all the excitement.
