Moving on Out

After nearly five and a half years of blogging here, mommy and daddy have decided we need to achieve a new balance, so we're moving to a new creative playground: siblingscribbling.wordpress.com We hope you'll continue to follow us there..."seesaw" you soon!

Busy August

Some of our friends and family have been giving us a hard time about being behind in our posts, so we decided to catch up by doing a marathon post on the rest of our August, which was filled with excitement and laughter.

Among our adventures, we checked out these Lego animals at the Bronx Zoo....

...and played with these animals at Elisha's party.

Fortunately, we had some restful time on our tummies...

...which is good, since every time I'm on my back, it feels like I'm back at the pediatrician.  I weighed in at 14 pounds, 2 ounces and was 25 inches long and was lucky to not need any vaccines this time.

We're all looking forward to more swinging times as we move into fall!

The End of an Era (Or at Least a Half-Decade)

Today was my last day of school. After five years of coming to the same place, I'm really going to miss my friends and teachers, not to mention going to school with you, little sis.

Don't worry, Liana, JJ and I will hold down the fort.

Full of Hot Air

Two years ago, I was lucky enough to have the very creative Miss Amber who helped me make a hot air balloon to fly in far above the Fireflies classroom. Now it was my turn, and boy was it fun to do a project following in your art-steps.

Newport

Not only was the fair better than fair, but the rest of our stay in Newport was great, including our annual family tree photo.

We attended a great concert on First Beach with this guy, who wore a different hat for each song.  Daddy liked his Red Sox hat the best, though.  And you girls liked sitting and eating Del's on the beach.

I reunited with my new girlfriend Rozzie, who came to visit from Cambridge (our fair city), MA.

And I worked on my aquatic entry.

After all of that action, it was time to take a shower (and dry off in a towel from when daddy was a boy!)...

...and head for bed (though elegantly dressed).

Fortunately, I sleep well sitting up, too!

Donde estan las seƱoritas with flowers in their hair?

These little piggies--apparently on the way back from market--went to the fair.   (Amazingly, they are older than me, even though they are so much smaller and pinker!)

I liked a lot of things at this fair, but the best was this GIANT pickle.

Now, Daria, don't fill up on pickle.  There's lots of this yummy porridge to eat!

Yes, if the wild dogs don't eat it first!

It's nice to see there are still some Yankees fans in New England.  Maybe I'll come back here more often!

Playmates Old and New

We spent some time with new and old playmates this week. I had never been to Playland before, but Rafaella took me there to take some prehistoric playmates for a spin.

Aaron and Alexis made two new friends for us, and I got to meet them and watch how little girls eat.

Then we had cocktails with our neighbor Marjorie. She was willing to hold me and to wear Daria's stickers. It's nice to be in good hands!!

Bowl-a-Palooza 2012

We "alley" went for our annual beach-a-palooza with Liam and Jack on the Jersey Shore, but due to the weather, needed to head inside. Bowling sure is a lot more fun with a bumper and a ramp! And I love the shoes. "Spare" me!

I beat all of the kids. Liana "strikes" again.

We still got to have pizza afterward. We don't need good weather to have fun. Don't "pin" us down...we can do bowling or beach (or both) next year.

Do You See the Semblance?

While several years ago, we ran a segment to see whether you could tell us sisters apart, with Jonas we have an inter-generational one. Check out these pictures of Grandpa (JJ's namesake, in B&W) as a baby and use the comments field to let us know if you see a similarity on any of them...

Water Mammals

Mommy and Jonas came with me on a school trip to the New York Aquarium.  We saw a lot, but mommy was most surprised to see the "Body Fluid Cleanup Kit" in the bus.  Hey, we might actually need that.

We also met this half-human/half-jellyfish.  We got along pretty well, without getting stung.

Daria didn't come, but we found her genus and phylum posted on the wall.  Didn't you teach me something about King Phillip Calling on Foolish Girls Seldom?

Speaking of marine life, in Boston, we went swimming with Nora and Mary.  I showed daddy my backstroke.

A few days later Jamie took us girls out for a fun ride on the boat in Mahopac.

"Sea" you soon!

All Work and No Play

Today was the second annual "Take Your Tykes to Work Day" at mommy's office. I still have fond memories of last year's event. Funny, but I don't remember it at all.

While neither Key Wilde nor Mr. Clarke could attend, we did get to meet Mikki Knudsen, author of Library Lion - one of our all-time favorite books. She read the story aloud and even signed a copy for us to take home.

I got to wear my very first nametag and, no, I didn't really enjoy having everyone know who I was.

We got to sit with Amy and her daughter Ally at Library Luncheon, which was a lot of fun.

Are you hiring purple princesses? Ally and I would like to apply!

Hey, when is Happy Hour?

Remembering Nana

Nana died today.  Fortunately, I got to meet her yesterday when mommy and daddy took me to Florida for a very special visit.  It was my first airplane trip and I think they knew it was something special since I got priority boarding.

She gave me a smile that will last a lifetime.

I'll always remember some advice she gave us all when I was about your age, JJ.

We will all miss you, Nana!

Broadway Debut

Liana and I were tu-tu excited about our trial ballet classes and we laced up our slippers and headed up Broadway to check it out.

Is this what daddy means when he says he's going out to the bar?

I don't know why there is so much galloping in ballet. Did I come to the equestrian class by accident?

Thank you for a wonderful first class.
