Holy Moly Holidays

Leo's mommy hosted an incredible holiday playdate. One of the highlights were snowman marshmallow cupcakes. They were eye-poppingly gorgeous!!


Not to mention that the frosting was worthy of a yoga pose...


Look mommy, no hands.


On the subject of hands, since Vanessa grew up in London, she got those British poppers, which mommy and I put our hands to work on (while I looked on...yes those are my cheeks!)


Speaking of cheeks, when Ari (and his cute cheeks) came to visit, I put my tushie on the school bus so he could give me a pushie.

Happy Clownukah

While it's hard to top my original "Careful Candles Chanukah," we tried hard each of the eight nights, many of which we shared with cousins...


...and aunts and uncles...


...and of course, Mema.


We like to think of her as our very own Grandma the Clown.


She sure knows how to make me smile. Happy Chanukah!

Boy Story 3

While Disney Pixar has been busy with its three-quel, Aunt Catharine and Uncle Thadeous introduced their third in a series as well - Baby Leo.


He joins Sorin and Rian in extensive trouble-making and fun-having. Speaking of fun, we had a lot of it decorating Chanukah cookies...


...and then eating them. Delicious!!


To daddy's delight, the boys invited me to explore their bunk bed. In a few more years, that may not be an offer I'm allowed to accept.

Perfect: Head On or In Profile

Since it's once again time for a new profile, we thought we'd archive the current one:

After more than a year, we're certain there's nothing more fun than being sisters! One of us has more than three years of life experience from which to draw, while the other has a more BOLD perspective. (And check out Liana's earlier musings - before sister Daria arrived - at lianayael.blogspot.com.)

A "Dairy" Happy Birthday and A Half

Happy birthday and a half, little sister. These past eighteen months have been out of this world, so we took you to the planetarium to celebrate. Unfortunately you only saw the universe inside your eyelids since you slept through the entire visit.


I thought the past year and a half was quite a ride, wasn't it? Say cheese!


Speaking of cheese, we got to make our own pizza.


Then, despite the impending arrival of winter, we gave you a proper celebration, complete with cake....


...and more cake...


...and then ice cream!


After sharing all these months, I needed a dessert of my own, so I stole daddy's hot fudge sundae when he wasn't looking.


Our quick visit to Dr. Y this week included a weigh-in (fortunately, despite all our desserts, we're still svelte) and a few inoculations (weren't we both so brave?) to ensure several hundred more half birthdays.


I was so exhausted that I fell asleep midway through our memory game. Pajama Baby also looked pretty tushed (oops, I mean bushed).

Thanks and Giving

Our family gathered many times this weekend to give thanks for all of the wonderful people in our lives. First, we were thankful for giant SpongeBob (represented via balloon at the Macy's Parade).


Then, we were grateful to be able to catch up with cousins,...


...and Mema,...


...and the Vienna Boys Choir.


We even did a little clowning around.


By contrast, this group looks a bit formal, no?


Finally, we could sit down for something to eat. I thought we were having turkey legs, not Daria arms, silly PopPop!!


Mostly, we're thankful that we can get together to let loose!

The Candy Man Can

As part of teaching us some life lessons, Mema bought each of us a very sweet man. We could perfect his features, dress him, and even share our candy with him. (Just like we can do with daddy!)


I gave mine a big smile, but not too big (I still want people to notice ME!)


Then you helped me...


...so we each had a perfect man of our own.


I shared mine with another sweet man in our life - delicious!!

The Grandest of Grandpas (1938-2010)

There are absolutely no words to express how much we will miss Grandpa. That said, given his dedication to and amusement from our blog, we want to dedicate our scribblings to him...


We'll never forget the first time we met him.


As mommy's idol Eleanor Roosevelt said, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that's why they call it the present. "


Fortunately "Grampy" taught us so much and will always be with us in our hearts and memories, helping to show us the way. We love you, Grandpa!

What is a Candy-loving Butterflying Ballerina Elephant?

The Jeopardy clue is "Our 2010 family Halloween costume." Hopefully that isn't too backwards for you to follow. Stop talking. We're already behind in our trick-or-treating.


Here's a better view, even if by this point in the evening I was covered in chocolate. That's why I keep my candy in my trunk (HA!).


After an evening of collecting candy, our four legs (and two wings) were thankful for a break.

Grandpa's Little Sprouts

Back in July, I planted some zinnia seeds in a tiny ceramic egg (thanks, Daya!). After just two days, they sprouted.


Grandpa told me that if we wanted them to grow into flowers, we should transplant them into a pot, so we brought them to Mahopac and he planted them. I know all about growing big and strong. Have you felt my muscles?


A few weeks later, Grandpa helped me plant them in the ground. We watered them and loved them and they grew.


Before we knew it, they flowered and flowered and flowered. My zinnias!!


When the summer ended, Mema cut the zinnias for me so that I could enjoy them one more time as a beautiful bouquet!
