Land of Milk and Bunny

Linnea and her parents took us to the New Jersey State Fair. First, we had to fuel up (get it?) at a car-themed restaurant. Too bad I could only drink milk.


But there was plenty for you at the fair. Can someone count the lactators in this photo? That's ridiculous. I'm telling your mamma-ry!

Liana, you look like you've forgotten everything you learned about lactation. Get reading! What does a goat say? Maa! Maa! Maa-mmary!


Daddy was trying to out-do last year's "best udder contest" in the Ocean State. Evidently in the Garden State they do a competition about man parts. No milk production here.


Here I am acting out one of my favorite books. Can I "wear mummy's ring?"


How come we have to wait until next year to go back? No fair!

Wild, Wonderful Weekend!

BoMa and BoPa spent a lovely long weekend in New York.


You looked very excited when you heard that we would be going to the zoo!


While there, BoPa and I petted a cool cat...actually it was an icy penguin.


We watched the sea lions eat lunch (though I slept through most of it).


Astrid joined us for a picnic and clown concert in Riverside Park. She taught me to dip my pretzels in guacamole. Again, I slept through the event despite some of the tuba playing. Princess Penny wasn't the kind of royalty I had in mind, even if she did bring a Mr. Softee truck.


On Sunday, Suzy and Ari (and Dan) were wonderful brunch hosts and Suzy held you like she knew what she was doing.


That was fun, but I really enjoyed my first horsie ride - thanks Ari!

Tasty Treats

While I'm busy enjoying lait de maman, you get to have so many delicious things:
Raspberries from the vine;


Blueberries fresh off the bush;


Ice cream from the truck; and


Dumplings from the chopsticks.


But perhaps the most significant culinary discovery of the summer was Mema and Grandpa's treats drawer in Mahopac. Mommy must have had a pretty sweet (and salty) childhood given all the goodies they have on hand!

Pop Over to the Doctor

Daddy went to work late this morning, enabling us to have a family breakfast at Popovers, just like we did before my two-month doctor's appointment.


I wore my "I'm the big sister" shirt...


...and I wore my corresponding onesie.


Then it was off to Dr. Y's for my two-month appointment. I weighed in at 11 pounds 2 ounces (exactly what I weighed at the same age) and am 22.5 inches (half an inch shorter than I was, which is appropriate since you're the LITTLE sister). I also got two legs and one arm innoculated (not sure why he let the other arm get off so easy).

Swings, Rings and All That Jazz

This morning we finally went to the Post Office to get my passport. Soon we'll be able to travel the world together.


We didn't have to travel far to see Miss Saturn, a hoola hoop artiste, who performed in Riverside Park. She's named for her rings, get it? Here she has four!


Alex and I had trouble getting even one into orbit...


Guess you're more swingers than ringers!


Ain't that the truth - mommy even lets me swing in her sunglasses!


We also enjoyed a jazz concert and picnic with Alex and his parents, including dancing and bubbles and guacamole.


Speaking of bubbles, I really enjoy popping them on my nose. And mine!


Guacamole, on the other hand, is best enjoyed in the mouth...I especially love sharing mine with my "Lala." Mommy and daddy noticed that you've only started calling him that when you discovered that "Dada and Daria share a D" - coincidence? We think not!

Hand It to Us

There was a lot of ice cream in my life this weekend, and it got all over my face too.


That was nothing compared to your hands.


I didn't realize that when daddy took me to Midsummer Night's Swing, my hands were as important as my feet. More important in your case, short stuff.


Dress as your favorite team was hard at school. On the one hand, I wanted to support daddy by celebrating the first-place Red Sox; on the other hand, I didn't want to get picked on at school or upset my mother - so I compromised.


Nana lent a hand when I got fussy and made me smile.


We gave the Brooklyn Cyclones a big hand when they beat the Doubledays in honor of Oscar's birthday (yes, for those of you keeping track, his birthday is August 19 so we were a month early).


But of all the hands, nothing beats holding your sister's. Except holding YOUR sister's.

Slip Slidin' A-way

I absolutely love the playground. The swings, the jungle gym, and especially the slide. So, imagine my delight when mommy said you could come down the kiddie slide with me...I'm only sorry she wouldn't let you go on MY lap. I think it was probably safer this way!

Boys, Oh Boys

What a busy week meeting new people from around the world. I'm jealous that you got to see Niffer and Matthew, and their boys, Arthur and Charlie, who are visiting from the UK. Don't forget about Niffer's dad! I guess, but he was coming from NEW England - New Hampshire to be precise, which isn't as exciting as actual England.

Some other new friends came from very close and have a lot of experience with babies - particularly boys. Yes, Catharine has two...


...and Fernando has two with another one on the way.


While she's not a boy, I got to eat yummy food at Pier i and then ice cream with Astrid and her mommy and daddy.


Yes, and when Anita picked me up, I forgot that I was missing out on the ice cream.

Another Day at the Office

Today I finally made a visit to mommy's office and met her colleagues. You're so lucky that you got to meet "Aunt" Kay - one of our most loyal followers.


Mommy's department had a lunch outside to celebrate their successful year, but I pretended it was to welcome me.


I also never miss a party - so today we helped celebrate Herb's birthday.


I think he turned three (or at least that's how many candles he blew out). Hard to believe that he and Daisy are the same age.
