New Class Acts

While we aren't exactly going "back to school" since we've been in school all summer, we made big transitions today. We said goodbye to our teachers and got ready for our new classrooms...

I started blowing bubbles so I could join the Fishies, while you grabbed a banana, climbed a tree and became a Monkey. So far my new classroom is stacking up to be pretty fun...

While my new class had a seat reserved for me - with my name on it and everything!

So far, our new classes get an A+!

Baltimore and more and more...

We went to Fulton, Maryland, for cousin Brent's Bar Mitzvah. He's actually one of my third cousins, which is confusing since we also have six first cousins. But who's counting? Not me, since I don't know how to count yet.

Since we couldn't actually attend the service or the reception, the best part of the weekend was seeing family, including BoMa, BoPa and Nana, and Abi and Melissa who came all the way from California.

Oh, and "eating" Oreo cookies! (Reminds me of a song: "Do you know exactly how to eat an Oreo, yes to do it, you unscrew it..."or maybe you just smoosh it all over your face?)

I got to celebrate my 15 month birthday during our weekend away. Will I get to read from the Torah soon? You probably have to be able to read first (and maybe stop sleeping in a crib), silly sister.

On the way home, we stopped to see Bobo and PopPop in Baltimore.

At their apartment, we were able to "reflect" on what a wonderful family we have.

Jack and Ill

This morning I was still recovering from a cold, but fortunately I was able to get a check-up right in my own room. After I finished rounding on my patient, Daddy took me to the Children's Museum.

First, I learned about the Jack-in-the-Box. But where was Liam's brother? Hopefully not in the box.

It was raining, so we ended up taking a taxi.

Sorry I missed all of the fun!

Good Things Come in All Sizes

We had a fun weekend of big and small. On Saturday night, we attended an intimate concert in Riverside Park. I got to eat a big bowl of tiny black rice for the first time!

On Sunday, we went to the Central Park Zoo. I braved the liquids in a big waterfall...

...and I took my usual spot with the solids - I'm not such an itsy bitsy spider anymore.

On the way home, we saw some enormous bubbles filled with air. Strictly speaking, I don't think they count as gas, but it was a nice try.

Speaking of nice, we had a lovely dinner with Rachel and Gabrielle. Big and little princesses unite!

We have such a fantastic family - of all shapes and sizes.

One Giant Step for Babykind

Baby sister, today you celebrated quite a "feet" when you took your first real steps. I am so proud of you and can't wait until we can walk hand-in-hand - maybe someday at zero gravity like lunar-tics.

Thank Heaven For (Big and) Little Girls

We are thrilled to welcome two new little girlfriends who are also wonderful dinner companions:

Baby Layla was born in May, but we only just finally met her. She was delightful at her first dinner in a restaurant...

...where daddy fed her a bottle (just like old times).

Our dear friend Astrid became a big sister, like me, when her family welcomed Baby Calista in July. It was such fun to have a dinner party at their house with so many little ladies.

All these babies made me realize just how big a girl I actually am...especially when perched up here near the ceiling.

And to prove that I'm getting bigger all the time, I'm learning to put on panties in anticipation of potty training one day. If only you could figure out where they go...

Play (Ball) Date

This morning I went to the salon for my second haircut so I could look good for a special afternoon baseball playdate with Ari. You were the designated sitter!

You were very brave to sit in the fire truck seat and let mommy distract you from the big scissors with a book about going to the doctor (hey, it's all relative). I glove my haircut.

Once styled, I ruined my hair by taking a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, which was a very big (and windy) orange boat. Hey, Daria, turn around, you're missing Lady Liberty.

Thanks, sis - wow, she is beautiful!

Hair we are! When we got to the game, it was great to see Scooter "the holy" Cow. He was a lot bigger than I expected. He made your boyfriend look kinda short.

I was so excited to get to share a seat with Ari. He looks really excited to have your arm around him. No offense, but I think he might be more interested in the game...

Speaking of interest in the game, and the home team, you may notice that daddy has a (Staten Island) Yankees hat on his head. Mommy and I helped him pick it out.

Running the bases was a definite highlight - especially crossing home plate!

So much for my fantastic hairdo!

Things We Rode (and Did) in Rhode Island

This week we drove to Rhode Island. Fortunately I didn't have to pedal the whole way.

While there, we had so much fun. We swang...

...and swang.

We swam...

...and swam...

...and sunbathed.

We took up fishing...

...and tennis (watch out Wimbledon!).

Though I have my suspicions that I was only asked to play so I could be asked to sweep the court. What makes you say that?

We had a blast with Uncle Josh and soon-to-be-Aunt Rachel (congratulations!!!) who came down from Boston for the day and night.

Mommy and daddy went with them to an 80s party, which required costumes and hair (fortunately mommy was willing to do mine just like hers - wicked radical!)

If you think daddy's retro Ray-Bans are funny, check out my new tie-dye goggles!

BoPa took our fourth annual Family Tree photo...

...and we spent a little time in a tree (literally)...

...seems perfectly spacious in here to me.

Speaking of trees, we visited the Green Animals Topiary Garden with BoPa.

I always talk about hugging trees, and this one seemed especially bearable.

Among the adorable trees, we also found this fantastic rocking horse. Just our size!

Let me give you a ride, little sis!
